Pumpkin ‘Jack O’Lantern’ – For Halloween Carving and Cooking

Pumpkin ‘Jack O’Lantern’ (Cucurbita pepo) is a classic Halloween pumpkin variety that produces large orange fruits. Its firm but carvable skin makes it an excellent choice for making lanterns. The flesh can also be used in cooking, for example in soups, baked goods and purées.

Sow the seeds directly into warm soil in May–June, or start them indoors and plant the seedlings outside once the weather has warmed up. Choose a sunny and nutrient-rich growing location. Regular watering and fertilising help support a good-quality harvest.
