Chicory ‘Zoom F1’ – Winter Forcing Variety for Crisp Heads

Chicory ‘Zoom F1’ (Cichorium intybus) is an F1 hybrid variety grown especially for producing crisp, pale chicory heads during the winter season. It is a good choice for gardeners who want to try something a little different and continue harvesting after the main growing season.

Sow the seeds outdoors in rows in June. Lift the roots in late autumn and store them in a cool, dark place. Plant the roots in soil in a bucket or container every 2–3 weeks and move them to a dark space at around 15 °C, where they will produce crisp chicory heads.
