Basil ‘Sweet Basil’ – Large-Leaved Basil Seeds

Basil ‘Sweet Basil’ (Ocimum basilicum) is a traditional and popular large-leaved basil variety with aromatic leaves that are excellent for pasta, pesto, salads and fresh use as a kitchen herb. Sweet Basil produces large, green and aromatic leaves that can be used fresh or dried. Regular pinching helps the plant branch out and produce more leaves throughout the growing season.

Sow the seeds from May to July outdoors or directly in a pot in a warm growing location. You can also start the seedlings indoors and move them outside after about four weeks, once the weather is warm enough. Basil grows best in a warm, bright and sheltered place.
