Alpine Strawberry ‘Baron von Solemacher’ – Sweet Berries for Pots

Alpine Strawberry ‘Baron von Solemacher’ (Fragaria vesca) is an aromatic and productive alpine strawberry variety that produces small, sweet and highly fragrant berries throughout the growing season.

This compact variety does not produce runners, making it an excellent choice for pots, balconies, windowsills and small gardens. The plants stay tidy and can produce plenty of juicy berries that are especially popular with children.

Sow the seeds indoors in early spring at around 20 °C, for example in a mini greenhouse. Prick out the seedlings once and plant them outdoors in early summer. ‘Baron von Solemacher’ grows best in a sunny or partly shaded location.
